NEW: DocuWare Version 6.10 with Hybrid Cloud Solution

Maximum Flexibility for Secure Enterprise Content Management

New Windsor NY, September 29, 2016 – ECM specialist DocuWare is building on its successful Cloud platform. With the current Version 6.10, users can opt for a Hybrid Cloud Model, where they can use ECM features in the public cloud and flexibly combine them with their private cloud/local on-premise system. In addition, a Local Data Connector is now available to link up the DocuWare Cloud with local databases and application.

With DocuWare, ECM users can now choose where they store data and documents as well as manage their business processes. For example, highly sensitive information that might need to be retained in a regulated manner to meet legal requirements can be stored in partitioned areas within the company network or in a specially secured and isolated data center (Private Cloud). At the same time, documents and processes that require normal security can be efficiently and inexpensively housed in the DocuWare Cloud. All of this is now possible through innovative, highly efficient synchronization features that exchange selected documents via secured connections between different systems. A user can specify how and when documents are captured in each system, thereby determining when they might move from a local system into the DocuWare Cloud.

The new features address unique security needs as well as help to avoid bottlenecks that might occur due to limited bandwidth in different regions or countries. Depending on the Internet connection, cloud and on-premise systems can be flexibly combined.

Simple Integration in Business Applications

Cloud-based ECMs must be able to be fully integrated in business applications like an ERP or CRM, even when these are traditionally run within a local network or a dedicated data center. The new Local Data Connector is a slim app that is installed within a local network and creates the connection to a company’s DocuWare Cloud system. DocuWare Cloud uses this to access data retained in, for example, an accounting program – data such as creditor name, record number, date or amount – in order to index and categorize documents and manage a variety of business processes. Locally, the Connector can access a database directly or via ODBC and can easily be configured by the user. The connection between the Local Data Connector and DocuWare Cloud is completely secure and does not require any special port settings.
