DocuWare Helps Fight Crime

Chalk this one up to interesting applications of DocuWare: The Chicago Post-Tribune recently reported that an Indiana police department will use money confiscated from drug arrests to make its records electronic.

The Valparaiso, IN City Council approved earmarking the funds to purchase Docuware, which their City Hall already uses.

Quoting the article, “Chief Michael Brickner said using the software would allow the department to use less room to save documents and be able to call them up by text searching, rather than looking through file cabinets. The department will have to scan in photos and documents for the system.”

Take that, Sgt. Joe Friday.
